Social entrepreneur Reese Fernandez-Ruiz on fake news: “If you have a platform, you can be part of the solution.” | #KailanganTotoo

Rags2Riches founder Reese Fernandez-Ruiz admits that it’s easy to get tricked by fake news. Even she has fallen for fake news in the past!
Being surrounded by it constantly, one can feel at a loss on what to do to stop fake news. In a conversation we had with Fernandez-Ruiz, she said that it’s never too late to learn and grow from your past. Firmly believing in one thing, and then later on learning you were wrong should make your resolve even stronger to make up for your mistakes. It doesn’t stop with improving yourself—you should help others get there too.
The entrepreneur says,
As long as you have a platform no matter how seemingly small, you can be part of the solution. As a leader with some influence and access to bigger platforms, I try super hard to be intentional before I post anything, especially things that will influence the future of our country.
In sharing artist Cj De Silva’s #KailanganTotoo piece, she invites leaders like herself to look outside their bubbles of reality and pledge #KailanganTotoo in their businesses and in life.
